If the flooring of your kitchen is badly scratched or stained, then you need to replace the flooring. Replacing the flooring can be an expensive project, but there are many cheap flooring options available that can cut down your costs. Vinyl flooring and linoleum flooring are cheaper options and these type of flooring can be easily installed by you, thus helping you save on labor cost. You can also install laminate flooring which is not only cheap but also comes in a variety of patterns and designs to match your kitchen decor. If you budget does not permit a new flooring to be installed, then you can install a seagrass rug or sisal rug instead.
An L-shaped kitchen allows ample free space to move around, at the center of the kitchen. The layout consists of kitchen arrangement along the two walls of kitchen that are joined at the corner. This type of formation allows you to place a kitchen island along any of the remaining walls.
If you have a flexible budget, then you can go with a theme kitchen like Italian, Tuscan, or French country. If you are looking for a calm look, go with more whites and off-whites. For a cheerful look in the kitchen sunshine yellow walls are a good idea. If you want your kitchen to look stunning then pick colors like lavender, black, mint blue, light cherry, or pale green. Make sure you have enough cabinets and shelves to accommodate all the utensils to maintain the kitchen space uncluttered, this will also help in kitchen cleaning. For easier maintenance of the kitchen, go with a semi-gloss finish, as this finish makes the wall more durable and can be scrubbed.
If you are thinking of kitchen remodeling, then Tuscan theme is a good choice. Tuscan kitchens imitate nature and colors like green, brown, yellow and red are used on walls. Use a stucco texture to get this theme, and opt for curtains which are light-colored or have striped or checked pattern on them. You can place wall tiles in front of the sink which have floral designs on them, and hang copper vessels for display. Add some wooden kitchen furniture, and for finishing touch place a large-sized copper pot on the table.
If you want a harmonious look of painted walls which complements the dark cabinets then use these ideas. The simplest way to do this is to choose a shade which is lighter than the color of the cabinets. For example, if you have dark brown cabinets then go for a shade of medium or light brown. If your cabinets are black in color go with gray.
Galley kitchen, though the most economical, is also the most crumpled of all kitchen floor layouts. It includes kitchen set up along the two parallel walls in the kitchen, with a narrow space in between. All the appliances, counters, and kitchen cabinets are arranged along the two parallel walls of the kitchen. This type of layout is suitable for kitchens with a single cook.
