The kitchen is one of the most functional room of the house and it too needs a makeover every few years. If you have a limited budget, remodeling the kitchen might seem challenging. But with some creativity and ingenuity kitchen renovations can be done within a very low budget too. The key to cheap remodeling of a kitchen is to focus on giving the kitchen an updated look without making any major constructional changes. Sometimes simple changes like installing a new flooring or just painting the cabinets can give the kitchen a whole new look. Whatever your budget might be, there are some inexpensive kitchen remodeling ideas that can help you in giving your old kitchen a makeover.
One way to check if the wall paint colors go with your dark cabinets is to simply place some paint chip samples on it. Another way to do this is to take a picture of the kitchen cabinets and walls. Then paint the wall in a design software and compare. This way you will get a preview of how the two colors go with each other.
One of the best ideas for inexpensive kitchen remodeling is to update your existing kitchen cabinets by using paint, molding and new hardware instead of installing new ones. The cost of installing brand new kitchen cabinets is exorbitant, and when you are on a budget it is best to make the best of what you have got. Painting the kitchen cabinets in a color that complements the wall color of the kitchen is a great idea to jazz them up. You can even consider staining or pickling the wooden kitchen cabinets for a fresh look. Install new hardware like kitchen cabinet pulls and knobs. These types of installation do not cost much and you can do it yourself over the weekend.
If you wish to give a touch of modern decor to the kitchen cabinets then certain color combinations like these would be useful. One of the most popular combinations these days is that of black cabinets with deep red walls. You can also have dark red kitchen cabinets with white walls. To give your kitchen a natural-Zen look, consider going with fresh green walls with some white wall designs and dark black or dark brown cabinets. White walls with some dark painted cabinets also look modern and give a very different look to the kitchen. White goes with deep blue, deep green, and deep red cabinets. Another way to make your kitchen look modern is to paint the kitchen walls in turquoise blue or lavender colors.
An L-shaped kitchen allows ample free space to move around, at the center of the kitchen. The layout consists of kitchen arrangement along the two walls of kitchen that are joined at the corner. This type of formation allows you to place a kitchen island along any of the remaining walls.
If you want a harmonious look of painted walls which complements the dark cabinets then use these ideas. The simplest way to do this is to choose a shade which is lighter than the color of the cabinets. For example, if you have dark brown cabinets then go for a shade of medium or light brown. If your cabinets are black in color go with gray.
