A two-handle faucet on the other hand has two handles: one handle controls the flow of cold water and the other controls flow of hot water. The cool thing with a two-handle faucet is that it`s elegant to look at.
Faucets have different spout heights. For example, there are those that have straight, short spouts while others have very high arching, long spouts. There are others that have a pullout spout which is ideal in rinsing large or awkward dishes. All you need to do is to choose the right height for your application.
The size of your sink will determine the type of faucet. If you have a small sink, then a single lever faucet will suit your needs. But if you installed a large double sink, then installing a faucet with two handles and a center spout is the right move. Make sure the faucet you choose is proportional to the size of the sink. You do not want a small one a double bowl sink. Some of the finishes faucet comes in are brushed nickel, chrome, polished chrome, brass, antique brass and many more. A chrome faucet is probably the most popular these days.
To give your faucet a unique look, there are some kitchen faucets that come with accessories. Some of these accessories are: faucet handles, air gaps, side sprayers, soap dispenser, hot and cold dispensers. If you are planning of accessorizing your faucets, you should buy an accessory that is ideal for you.
Another common problem area, especially in colder climates, is that pipes may freeze. This problem can be pretty annoying, as home owners will not always know which pipe it is that is frozen and is causing the problem. First, turn on all the faucets in your house. The ones that are not putting out water are the ones where the frozen pipe is attached. Shut off the faucets that are producing water and leave the other valves open. Now you will have to turn off the valve that brings water into the house.
Wall mount faucets are mounted in a two hole configuration where one hole is for cold water and the other is for hot water.
